Women's Health Physiotherapist
BSc (Hons), MCSP, HCPC
I qualified as a Physiotherapist from the University of the West of England and completed my pelvic health training in the NHS.
I have a background in perinatal fitness and corrective exercise for the core and pelvic floor and a passion to help women feel their best at all stages of life.
Pelvic floor dysfunction can impact a woman’s life in many ways. From the stress of trying to manage incontinence, to no longer enjoying intercourse or holding back on enjoying activities they used to love due to their symptoms.
I can help and treat women 18 years old and above who are experiencing pelvic floor dysfunction. Pelvic floor dysfunction can occur at any age and the reason can be due to many factors or life experiences; pregnancy, childbirth, trauma/surgery and menopause are a few examples.
Conditions that can be treated with pelvic health physiotherapy due to pelvic floor dysfunction includes:
- Urinary incontinence and bladder urgency
- Faecal incontinence and bowel urgency
- Pelvic organ prolapse
- Pelvic pain
Pregnancy and postpartum specific conditions include:
- Pregnancy related pelvic girdle pain/ low back pain,
- Urinary/ bowel incontinence or urgency during pregnancy and/or after childbirth
- Diastasis recti
- Scar care from c-section or tearing during childbirth.
- Postpartum recovery and return to exercise advice
Alongside pelvic health physiotherapy, I also offer restorative fitness programmes and educational workshops to support women with their physio rehabilitation, prevent core and pelvic health conditions from developing and improve general health and wellbeing too.
My aim is to help women regain optimum function of their body to feel aligned, balanced and healthy!
